Operated the F-104G, CF-104, CF-104D and TF-104G with two squadrons between 1963 and 1986. The F-104 was replaced by the General Dynamics F-16 fighter. Both squadrons flew the F-86D before these were replaced by the F-104. First 25 F-104G and 4 TF-104G aircraft were delivered based on the US Military Assistance Program. Later in 1971 Denmark received 15 CF104 and 7 CF104D aircraft from Canada which were delivered by air transport directly to Aalborg in September. The first CF104D's began to fly the next year (1972) and the single seater CF-104s started flying within both squadrons between April 1973 and November 1976.
