We got news this week that the preserved F-104S (c/n 1068) MM6768 coded “3-28”, preserved with 28 Gruppo markings with CUBI srl. at Caselle di Sommacampagna, was heavily damaged in the early morning of July 29th due to a thunderstorm. The aircraft was thrown over and smashed up side down on the ground. Sadly the tail section broke off.
Hopefully the company is able to restored and repair the aircraft again for future preservation. We will see what happens.
