Seen for many years preserved at Lecce as "9-10", this F-104 disappeared a while ago. Early 2005 it had been restored at Grazzanise by using the F-104S/ASA-M MM6722 code 5-31 and by mounting a good tail once belonging to F-104S/ASA-M MM6939. In September 2005 it surprisingly appeared being on display at Lecce-Galatina (LIBN) with code "9-10".
Now the aircraft had been taken away from Lecce and it received a well deserved treatment with fresh paint, and keeping its code "9-10". In July 2025 it appeared at the Museo della Guerra di Castel del Rio, Italy. It was officially revealed at its new location on July 12th by a big audience of citizens and military. It is great that people still respect the aviation history and the value of this wonderful aircraft!! You can visit the special facebook page of the Museum for more information: https://www.facebook.com/museocasteldelrio
Congratulations, what a great job!!!!
