CF-104 104704 get the attention it really needs

CF-104 104704 (formerly 12704) flew its entire operational life at Cold Lake as test aircraft for the Canadians, first with CEPE and later AETE. After its retirement in 1983 it became a battle damage repair training airframe with code "820C". Not a very good choice to keep the aircraft healthy..  Late 90s it went to Suffield for instructional purposes and gladly a number of years later it was adopted by the Air Defence Museum at Bagotville, with the tail once belonging to CF-104 104774. It went in storage and nothing happened with the aircraft until November 2020 when it was transferred to the Aviation Museum in Montreal. It was great to see that a group of enthusiastic people decided to restore the aircraft with the purpose to give it back its proper looks again and to add it to their collection. This was quite a project and today we got a latest status update with some pictures from Brian Sturrock. Please find it below:

We are currently working on getting 12704 back to its orginal paint scheme as it originally flew in Cold lake .When finished it will be the only 104 depicted from that era . As you can see from the pictures below it has 19 patches due to it being hammered into by an  CAF instructor at Bagotville  and the "students were then given 2 hrs. to patch it up ! The 104744's tail section which includes the vertical fin is providing that part of the airframe for 704 .  The canopy and forward starboard side of the windshield was damaged by vandals in late December 2025. The project is quite demanding and the team is currently looking for interested CF-104 enthusiasts for funding it - (please contact Brian)
