In September the F-104G 8168 at the University Arslanbey Campus location, Kocaeli, was refurbished by a enthusiastic team. There was a worry that the Air Force would take the aircraft away because the condition of the airframe became worse and needed attention. The aircraft was treated and repainted. It is not yet sure if the aircraft will receive also a serial again on its fresh green overall scheme.
