| ACM - 1978 Komatsu AFB
During this very first ACM exercise the F-104s flew against the F-4 Phantom.
F-104 squadrons 202, 203, 204, 205, 206 and 207 Hikotai participated.
F-4 participation came from 301, 302, 303 and 304 Hikotai.
Other aircraft (participating in different roles) were T-33, YS-11 and MU-2.

| ACM - October 1979 Chitose AFB
During the ACM exercise at least the 203 and 205 squadron aircraft were seen flying missions from Chitose AB.

It looks like two-seaters have been used as arbritage aircraft for analysis purposes during the exercises.
These aircraft had red or orange bands around their fuselage for all partipating squadrons.

Aircraft 8531 was seen in ACM colors in March 1982, while aircraft 8538, 8637 amd 8677 were seen already in ACM colors in January, maybe still carrying the scheme from the 1981 meet?? Finally aircraft 8563 was seen flying in ACM colors in October 1982.
