| This Starfighter crashed after encountering an engine failure (lost power). It was flying together with 3 other aircraft from Trapani AB. It crashed into the sea at about 6km from the coast, into the Canale Di Sicilia near island of Marettimo), not far from Trapani, before landing. It happened 11:43 local time. The pilot, Major Giuseppe Fumo (32 years old) ejected safely. |
