Jessy Combs – July 27 1980 – August 27 2019

On August 27th 2019. the fastest woman on earth, JESSY COMBS, fatally crashed while trying to break the earlier record she set with the North American Eagle (F-104 Starfighter body) back in 2016 when she reached 477mph (768 km/u) average speed at the Alvord desert, Oregan, USA and in 2018 a new top speed of 483.227 mph.

I was there as part of her fire/rescue team.

The car was built from 56-0763 that my father flew many times at Edwards AFB. In fact, it was through the database here on International F-104 Society about ten years ago when I tracked down the tail number, photo of dad flying it hanging in the house, that I found out that it was now used in this land speed record attempt. From there I contacted the owners, became part of the team, and met this truly amazing woman.

Jessi was one of the sweetest, kindest, happiest persons you could meet. She also bigger balls than anyone I know.

    RIP sweet lady.
