6699 being restored in Greece

We were informed this week that a team called "aeroclub of dekeleia members" is busy restoring the old F-104G 6699 (former Royal Netherlands Air Force D-6699, delivered to Greece 23 July 1982, 35 years ago!!) which has been in outside storage at Dekeleia for a lot of years since it arrived in 1988. The aircraft started corroding and the paint has been damaged severely by the outside circumstances. It is great to hear that this aircraft will get the attention it needs and hope the project will show good results soon. Project lead Elias Sofianos (Retired Hellenic Air Force Colonel) will keep us up to date.

Good news! I hope to hear much more information about that project. Always interested in news about survivers…
