1991 AMF Operations ACE guard, during the Iraqi war with Kuwait

In 1991 the Italian Air Force 3Stormo participated (AMF operations ACE guard) in the Iraqi war against Kuwait. A number of Starfighters were stationed for almost 3 months at Erhac Air Base in Turkey from January 6th till March 10th 1991.

The following F-104G aircraft participated that period:

MM6514 / 3-10 (132gruppo)
MM6518 / 3-37 (28gruppo)
MM6524 / 3-46 (28gruppo)
MM6533 / 3-35 (28gruppo)
MM6540 / 3-33 (28gruppo)
MM6558 / 3-02 (132gruppo)
MM6589 / 3-36 (28gruppo)

During that period a number of other Starfighters have been seen (likely spare operational aircraft) arriving and departing being:

MM6529 / 3-11 (132gruppo)
MM6576 / 3-45 (28gruppo)
MM6611 / 3-52 (28gruppo)

(Again we want to point out that our IFS organization is not interested in the F-104 as a pure war-machine!!!)
