d/d 08jun64, 10 Wing (jun64-nov67), 1 Wing (jun69-mar74), 10 Wing (jun78-jun83), wfu 29jun83, stored Koksijde (jun83-jul94), stored Kapellen (dec94-dec96), preserved as FX52 "TIGER" at QRA museum area at Niederrhein/Weeze Airport Germany with tail from ex German Air Force 24+38. In June 2011 transported to Greece where it can be found preserved as part of the PALIS foundation collection at Voula.

Note:
This Starfighter, was delivered to the Belgium Air Force on 8 June 1964 and transferred to 23 Smaldeel, part of 10Wing at Kleine Brogel AB. On 9 August 1973, likely after it had received IRAN, it moved to sister squadron 31 Smaldeel. During its storage time it was officially struck off charge in 1987.

Accident Reports:

7 April 1966
During a heavy landing the rear fuselage hit the runway. Pilot 1Lt Guebels was ok but the aircraft (10 Wing) was CAT1 damaged and could soon be repaired.

31 october 1966
The cone of the left intake was damaged due to unknown reason. Damage (CAT1) could soon be repaired. The pilot 1Lt K Van Brussel (10 Wing) was ok

6 November 1967
This day the aircraft sustained CAT 3 damage to its noseradome. A big hole was the result of a ricochet while pulling up during firing exercises. Pilot ADC Cornelissen of 10 Wing was ok. Aircraft could be repaired.

10 November 1981
This day the FX52 sustained severe damage due to a mid-air collision with FX11. This aircraft FX52 could land at Kleine Brogel again and Pilot 1Lt Yvan Janssens (10 Wing - 31 Smaldeel) was ok. The FX11 flew over Près de Dinant and crashed into a field, 75km south of Brussel. Sadly Pilot Major Theo TheeuwenIt sustained severe injuries during the ejection and deceased. It was a very tragic accident.
The FX52 was damaged to its tail top-area (near the rudder) and also had a damaged left tiptank (aft section). The aircraft got the tailsection from FX86 and could fly soon again until its retirement.

In June 1978 the FX52 became very famous due to the wonderfull TIGER color scheme applied due to the Tiger Meet held with 31 Smaldeel at Kleine Brogel Air Base Belgium. Here it is seen at Kleine Brogel where it was photographed by Gerhard Lang.

In 2005 Dirk Bellens and Henk de Jongh, already official owners of the FX52, decided to bring the aircraft over to Niederrhein Airport in Germany. Here it is seen during its transport from Belgium to Germany. (Photo Dirk Bellens)

The owners decided to give the aircraft back its famous Tiger color scheme and started the restoration. Here it is seen on 23 September 2007 when a lot of preparation had been fulfilled.
