dd 01mar63, AFSC (mar63-may64), 4443rd CCTS (may65-jul66), AFSC (jul66-1967), 4443rd CCTS (oct67-jan68) to Greece 03feb68 Note: This particular Starfighter was used to test the Lockheed RF-104G configuration. It was gained by Lockheed on March, 1st 1963 and modified to JRF-104G (carrying recce systems as well as test equipment). It was tested till spring 1966 and went back to Lockheed in May 1964 for removal of the recce and testsystems. Designated as F-104G it was transferred to the 4333rd CCTS (Map pilot training at Luke AFB) on May 25th, 1965. In July 1966 it went back to the AFSC to be used as CL-901 prototype with a new J79J1Q engine. Since the CL-901 was lateron the basis for the F-104S version, this Starfighter 61-2624 was in fact also testing the future F-104S avionics, weapon systems and structural changes. Also the engine (J79J1Q would be further developed into the lateron used J79GE19). After the CL-901 tests had been finalized it was re-configured back into F-104G standard and transferred back to the 4443rd CCTS on October 6th, 1967, again for pilot training. After the trainingsquadron had been disbanded the aircraft was delivered (under MAP agreements) to Greece officially on February 3rd, 1969.. |

Accident Reports: 27 November 1969 (F-104G) While operated by 336th Mira (116 Ptx) It was written off after an accident near Krinoi Aghaias (Hellenic: Krinos Achaias). The pilot, 1st Lt. Georgios Dimakes was sadly killed. The cause is still unknown. |
